Hands-On YC-98S1H Training for SESB in Malaysia

During the training, GENY engineers guided the SESB technical team through the YC-98S1H from basic instrument operation to practical testing procedures. The sessions covered working principles, parameter configuration, standard operating procedures, field connection and commissioning, daily maintenance, and troubleshooting.
From Instrument Setup to On-Site Electricity Meter Testing
The YC-98S1H is a Portable Three Phase Standard Meter designed for on-site electricity meter error measurement. It supports both direct and clamp measurement modes, with accuracy class 0.05 in direct mode. Its portable design makes it easier for technicians to carry the instrument between different testing locations, especially when meters need to be tested directly at the installation site.
The YC-98S1H also integrates several functions for field testing, including harmonic measurement, waveform display, and CT/PT burden testing. Its 7-inch high-definition touchscreen provides a clear view of measurement data and allows technicians to access settings and test functions easily. With multiple testing functions integrated into one portable instrument, the YC-98S1H can support a wider range of field meter testing tasks.
During the hands-on session, SESB engineers operated the YC-98S1H under the guidance of GENY’s technical team. They worked through instrument configuration and practical testing procedures, while discussing questions that arose during operation.
