On August 10, GENY engineers conducted technical training on the YC-98S1H Portable Three Phase Standard Meter for Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd. (SESB) in Sabah, Malaysia. The training combined technical instruction with hands-on practice. It covered instrument principles, standard operating procedures, field setup, daily maintenance, and troubleshooting, with a focus on practical electricity meter testing.

GENY International successfully participated in Enlit Africa, showcasing a comprehensive portfolio of testing equipment for the African power market. The product display covered energy meter testing, CT/VT/CVT/transformer testing, EV charging station testing, relay testing, and field electrical safety and maintenance applications. The exhibition further strengthened GENY’s communication with African customers and industry professionals, while demonstrating the company’s comprehensive solution capabilities in power testing and metrology.

Low-voltage DC systems are gaining attention as renewable energy, storage, LED lighting, and electric vehicles continue to expand. At the same time, DC measurement is becoming more demanding. Distortions around the DC bus, limited standardization, and the need for reliable results in both laboratory and field conditions are turning DC power quality into a growing metering challenge.

As smart meter deployment grows, electricity meter calibration is facing new pressure from scale, field conditions, and workflow efficiency. This article looks at why on-site calibration is receiving more attention and how calibration practices are evolving toward more portable and scalable approaches.

EV charger testing is not just about whether a charger can deliver power. In China and international markets, testing typically covers safety, EMC, interfaces, communication, metering, and environmental reliability. This article explains the key standards and the main test items that matter in practical EV charger compliance and project delivery.

GENY International will participate in Enlit Africa 2026 at Booth A37, where the company will present its core meter testing and calibration solutions for utility, laboratory, and field applications. Visitors are invited to meet with GENY’s engineers to discuss testing requirements and explore suitable solutions.

Explore how smart meter data supports distribution network operations through operational visibility, digital twins and fog computing, based on a recent open-access review.

Harmonics are a common but often overlooked power quality issue in modern electrical systems. This article explains what harmonics are, where they come from, and how they can affect equipment operation, system reliability, and electricity meter testing under real operating conditions.
